BBC News Online produces excellent country reports giving readers a quick snapshot of countries around the world. I recently reviewed their profile for Chad, the north African country to the west of the Sudan.

Chad is an important player in the continuing conflict in Saharan Africa. While most public attention is focused on the horrors in the Sudan, the conflict is regional and informed readers should pay close attention to this resource rich country and its impact on the region.
